This newspaper depicts a couple of days in the life of the Princess of Wales. She is here attending a service at the Cathedral in Chichester. The next days she embarks on a trip to a local place of business with the Bishop of the Cathedral. Also, on that Monday, the news of victory of the British troops in Portugal were rejoiced.

In "Charlotte Temple", the opening chapter takes place with Montraville laying eyes on the older and well matured Charlotte Temple walking out of a church in Chichester. In this moment, he makes it his mission that before he leaves for America and war he will make his name known to her.
