Description
Describe key features of the primary source and how they help to answer the research question at hand (usually the significance of a space or place to a text and/or its author or readers)
This primary source describes a church in Boston, Trinity Church, having protests against the election of an assistant bishop. In the Lampligther, church plays an important role in both Gertrude and Mr.Bruce lives. When Gertrude was eight years old she was recused by Trueman Flint from her abusive guardian Nan Grant, which she then is raised lovingly and taught to be virtuous and have religious faith. Mr. Bruce is also very religious and frequently attends mass at his church. It is also important to note that in novel the church that Mr. Bruce always attends burns down and has to be rebuilt as a result of a fire.
