Description

The primary source describes in detail the layout of a fleet prison in London. The layout, prices the prisoners have to pay, and the descriptions of the setting in general explain the horrible conditions the prisoners lived in and explain the misery that they went through. This relates back to Charlotte Temple when Mr. Eldridge's surroundings are described. He is constantly complaining about being trapped in the prison, and this primary source describes why that would be the case. Fleet prisons represent isolation in this primary source and Charlotte Temple. The prison keeps prisoners completely isolated from the outside world.
