Description

I picked this little article in a newspaper because it reminds me kind of Nan Grant's house. To me, her house seems like a boarding house. She has men that live and eat there and she provides that for them. It's a newspaper advertisment for a home away from home in a way. For men on the road to work sort of. The advertisment offered different forms of payment and "reasonable terms".

The terms part makes me think about the different rules the Nan Grant had. She had different ones for the men and ones for Gerty. Gerty wasn't allowed to do anything but the men were. That is mainly because they were paying. I compare a boarding house to a hotel. A hotel in the 1800's though, not like hotels now. Differences in the nature of hotels or boarding houses has changed since then.
