Description

The article is an opinion piece written to a newspaper by Dr. Putnam. It is his frustrations regarding the burial practice done by Christians in a city atmosphere and how it is an abomination. Which leads to the significance of Forest Hills cemetery because it is away from the city, in very rural location. He discusses how it provides peace and tranquility for the dead so they can better resurrect to heaven. This relates to The Lamplighter because of the role of religion and spirituality is greatly significant to Gertude and her paid respects to the dead when she walks through the cemetery when in the suburbs of Boston
