This is a map of the main gold regions in California during the gold rush. In the novel, Gertrude's dad speaks about the gold rush in a letter, including that there were many people involved that they were fighting for the riches and describing the struggle they had to go through in order to survive. This map also show how many different routes there were to get to California during this time and gives a description about the land.
